The Animals were one of the most underated bands of the British Invasion era. i think its because unlike their felllow mates.. The Beatles and the Kinks and even the Stones who were considered the Bad boysof ROck.. . the Animals lead singer had this very manly persona. unlike the others very dreamy frontmen. like Paul McCartney and Ray Davies..of th eKInks.. Eric Burden was manly and had this deep sexy soulful voice to go along with that persona. They were one of the great bands .

When I first heard this I honestly thought it was a Doors cover... Well, I hadn't really got into the Doors by then and this somehow reminded me of Morrison. This is a very different kind of song compared to "I'm a Beliver", it's fantastic to see that one band can do a lovesong and a more serious one. Excellent.

With the exception of the 50's I witnessed so much music history . I have also been fortunate to have seen a lot if them live . In 09 I finally got to see three legends that I have wanted to see forever . Clapton ( with Roger Daltry ) , Jeff Beck and Robin Trower . I guess God hasn't forgot this old rocker , thanks .

Our children also enjoys the music of The Beatles,The Beach Boys,The Monkees,The Rolling Stones,The Grassroots,The Buckinghams,The Temptaions,The Classic 4,The Zombies,The Miracles,The Hollies and of course The Animals. Dusty Springfield, Lesley Gore, Connie Francis and Elvis Presley. I'm not putting down the music of today,however the 60s music was outstanding!!

@rfranklinw1 I'm 62 my wife of 40 years is 60 we both feel like we're in the prime of our lives.You don't know if you are going to live another 30 or 40 years. None of us know when that time will be. Even if someone is sick it doesn't always mean a death sentence. My aunt was sick with cancer was given 4 weeks to live. Before that 4 weeks was over my cousin who was 30 and healthy was killed on the job . My aunt who was 60 lived another year. My neice was 23 when she died , my brother was 27.

I grew up in the 60s, and looking back, any group, like The Animals, Procul Haren, Stones were a brief threat to The Beatles being No 1, so i hated them for that!!! Only later appreciated how brilliant they were as well!!

back in 65 or there abouts I spent a lot of time at my Grandma's. The best bit was her ancient stereophone where my cousin, in the Paras, had left a stack of vinyls, including the Amimals. I was only 7 but I lapped it up! and it formed my musical taste for the next 40 years. Thanks cousin!

@rfranklinw1 Arcade Fire, Gotye, Modest Mouse, John Maus, Mono, and there is still Radiohead, RHCP and AC/DC too. If you can't enjoy none of them, or only the old ones still active, you don't "know shit when you hear it". There are LOTS of good stuff out there, you just gotta look for it.
